A Pokémon fan is aiming to draw a Rowlet every day until the release of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, taking inspiration from real-life owls to do as such. The Grass/Flying-type is one of the Alolan starter Pokémon, alongside the equally adorable Litten and Popplio.

In the same way as other Pokemon, Rowlet is inspired by a real-life animal, the owl. It shares this common source of inspiration with generation 2's Hoothoot and Noctowl. All the more specifically, many fans theorize that Rowlet is based on the Barn Owl, a species which was introduced to Hawaii (the inspiration for Alola) in the late 1950's. This has not been straightforwardly confirmed by Nintendo, be that as it may, and so this remains simple speculation. Rowlet is also special in that as well as having a secondary typing, something which is somewhat rare for a starter Pokémon, this secondary typing changes in its final evolution. Rowlet is also one of the Hisuian starters available in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, where it gained another evolutionary structure in Hisuian Decidueye.

To pass the time in the approach the eagerly anticipated Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, one fan has now chosen to create daily drawings featuring the Grass Plume Pokémon. Reddit user kerbula is redrawing images of what they affectionately label "silly" owls, replacing the real-life original subject with an adorable Rowlet in Pokémon's classic cartoon style. Their initial post included a whole week of Rowlet accompanied by their inspirational images, which feature a variety of species. Rowlet can be seen in a variety of poses, from lying face-down on the floor to being roosted on the edge of a cup. With more than 10,000 upvotes on kerbula's post, it seems that fans agree that the starter Pokémon's cuteness is undeniable. The range of poses on display has been translated very well by kerbula, with stand-outs like Day 4's face-down Rowlet perfectly fitting the 'silly' moniker. Some sharp-eyes fans have noted that the sixth Rowlet, which is shown smiling endearingly at the watcher, appears to have a set of white teeth visible within its open beak. Notwithstanding, kerbula was fast to clarify that this was unintentional, and in reality they "just neglected to fill in his mouth". Nevertheless, some fans have tracked down the image of a toothed Rowlet strangely endearing, with one remark noting that the Pokémon simply appears to have "a goofy smile". With a lot of similar images on the way, obviously many are eager to see more Pokémon fan art showing off Rowlet's charming side.

kerbula's series of artwork is shaping up to be an entertaining commencement for Pokémon fans. kerbula has essentially promised just north of nine additional weeks of content featuring their adorable Rowlet before Scarlet and Violet release this November. This is content that many fans will doubtlessly be looking forward to seeing a greater amount of considering the success of the first batch alone. The decision to take inspiration from real owls is a particularly brilliant creative decision. Not only does it tie straightforwardly back into Rowlet's original design inspiration, however the 'silly' source material kerbula is using will all yet guarantee a certain degree of success with its charming poses. This adorable Pokémon fan art turns the starter into a real treat for fans.
